Shopping Experience During COVID

Shopping has always been a hobby of mine! Through COVID I hadn’t been shopping in any of my favorite stores for over 6 months! I finally had the chance to go with some family for a day get away to Chesterfield, MO. For all you shoppers I’m spilling the beans on the best places to shop!

We usually go to Chesterfield a couple of times a year. In the past we’ve made it an overnight stay at the Holiday Inn. We like to take the kids to the Zoo or the Science Center. Sometimes we send the kids home with the Dad’s and finish the trip with some shopping. This time it was a Ladies only day trip!

I always like to be comfortable on shopping trips, but feel cute! I knew I probably wouldn’t be trying things on given the restrictions so I went all in. I sported my favorite Sperry tennis shoes and my new Amazon dress! It also comes in a color that would be great for fall paired with some boots!

We started the day by going to TARGET! I hadn’t been to Target in well over 6 months so I was excited to say the least! This time I didn’t find as much as I usually do, but I was still able to get a few things for the kids. I also picked up a few bath products. I’ve seen the Flamingo Razor plastered all over the internet so I’m going to be doing a review! Also trying out some new hand soaps. I’ll be sure to check back in with my thoughts on these products!

What I snatched up for the kids is pictured below! If you don’t know about the kids brand Cat & Jack you need to check it out! They have a one year guarantee on their Kid’s clothes. I’ve never had any trouble with their clothes! I can tell you first hand they hold up to the toddler test!! This brand is affordable and they offer such bright and fun colors!

After the Target stop we went to Kirklands. I hadn’t heard of this store until my sister-in-law introduced it to me a few years ago. They have some of the cutest home decor! If you’re looking for holiday decorations, monogrammed items, fun pillows and more! As hard as it was, I held off on purchasing any fall items. I need to get out my stash and see what I have first. Fall is my favorite holiday to decorate for so I might go overboard sometimes! I was loving ALL of the buffalo plaid so I’m sharing a few items that are currently my favorites!!

After lunch we headed over to the outdoor mall Chesterfield Outlets. I wouldn’t recommend this mall unless you’re looking for something specific as so many of the stores are closed! You can check out what stores they offer here. They have a nice Maurice’s, Gap, J. Crew Factory, Coach, and H & M. I picked up quite a bit for the kiddos from H & M. I’ve shared it below. If you’re not familiar with H & M they have everything from baby to adult clothes for all genders. Their clothes are very reasonable and they often have good sales! I got our daughter several dresses for $5 and one sale was buy two get one free!!

Next, we went to the outdoor mall St. Louis Premium Outlets. This is hands down our go to mall. Due to it being an outlet mall they usually have great sales!! Check out what stores they offer here. Listed are a few stores we went to:
Sperry
Sketchers
Carters/Oshkosh
J. Crew Factory
Van Hausen
Columbia
Vera Bradley
Loft
GAP

I was able to get the kiddos several items from Carters and OshKosh B’gosh. OshKosh has my favorite socks for the kids! Most of the stores we went into didn’t have out their fall lines yet. They said there are delays and hopefully in the next couple of weeks they’ll be getting in their shipments!

We didn’t go into as many stores as normal because there were some long lines to get into certain stores due to capacity limits. Something to note if your planing a trip. Some stores you were able to try on clothes and others not. It really just depended on what store you were in!

Lastly, we stopped at Sugarfire BBQ in Wentzville, MO. I had eaten here a couple of times before, but this was a brand new location!!!

The new location is really neat! They have outdoor seating over looking two sand volleyball courts, which we took advantage of. I had the same thing I always have, the Carolina Sandwich!!! Yumm, it was delicious. I also love their mac n cheese, potato salad, and baked beans. They offer adult beverages and have an outdoor bar.

It’s an order and grab restaurant so they don’t have call ahead seating. I would suggest going early as sometimes they run out of certain meats. I highly recommend checking them out if you like BBQ. I brought the portobello mushroom sandwich + brisket home for my husband and he loved it!

We had a great trip! It’s always so nice to catch up. As “un-normal” as it was, it felt like a bit of an escape from everything going on. Sometimes, we can all use those days!
